When outside linebacker Matt Uhlar caused a Skyline player to fumble on a late-third-quarter drive Oct. 22, he knew he was back.
Eastlake recovered the fumble at its own 33-yard line to take the wind out of the Spartans’ sails.
“It felt good,” Uhlar said. “The whole season I wanted to be out there with the team.”
But even though the Wolves lost the week-eight cross-town game, Uhlar proved he was back to playing at his usual intensity. The senior captain, who has aspirations to play Division-1 football next year, spent the first five weeks of the season on the bench, recovering from knee surgery. He had to get back to playing a full game gradually.
