Review wins awards

Sammamish Review won a pair of awards at the Society of Professional Journalists 2103 excellence in journalism competition.
The Review took third place in general excellence, meaning it was the third-best nondaily newspaper across the states of Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho.
First place went to the Review’s sister paper, The Issaquah Press. Second place was Real Change.
Review editor Ari Cetron, won a second place award in the environment and science reporting category for his story “Salamanders get a little help from a Sammamish woman.”
Staff photographer Greg Farrar won a second place award for feature photography for work that ran in The Press.
The contest draws thousands of entries across newspapers, television, radio and the Internet in the four-state region.
The awards ceremony was held May 17.
