Medicare made Clear, a presentation about the basics of Medicare, is set for 7 p.m. May 7 at the Sammamish Library.
The Dirt on Dirt, a talk about the ins and outs of soil given by Fred Werner, of the Bellevue Urban Demonstration Garden, is from 6:30-8 p.m. May 8 at Beaver Lake Lodge.
The Sammamish Arts Commission and ACT theater will sponsor a free community reading of “The Price” by Arthur Miller at 7 p.m. May 8 at the Sammamish Library. The arts commission is seeking volunteer readers for the event. To volunteer, or for more information, email email@example.com.
‘Built on the Rock: A Book of Mormon Journey,’ a musical written, produced and starring local members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints tells the story of the ‘Book of Mormon’ from a mormon perspective at 6:30 p.m. May 9 and at 10:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. May 10 at Skyline High School. Free.
‘Kinfolk’ an exhibit of the work of David Berfield, will open May 12 at City Hall.
The Renaissance School of Art and Reasoning will perform ‘Fame, Jr.’ a musical based on the movie and TV series, at 7 p.m. May 14 and 15 at Eastlake High School. Tickets are $7 at the door.
Seven Secrets for great College Essays will coach teens on essay writing tips at 7 p.m. May 15 at the Sammamish Library.
The Mother-Daughter Book club, for girls ages 10-13 and their mothers, will discuss ‘Fever 1793’ by Laurie Halse Anderson at 1 p.m. May 17 at the Sammamish Library.
The Samm-amish Farmers market will open for the season at 4 p.m. May 21. It will run Wednesdays from 4-8 p.m. at City Hall.
The adult book club will read ‘The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind’ by William Kamkwamha at 7 p.m. May 21 at the Sammamish Library.
The U is for Ukulele, a family program for all ages with an adult, brings to life nursery rhymes books and songs with playful skits at 11 a.m. May 28 at the Sammamish Library.
The Harry Potter Reading Club will discuss ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’ at 4:30 p.m. May 29 at the Sammamish Library.
Reducing Stress Through Medi-tation, a class run by Ajili Hodari, will explore the benefits of meditation at 7 p.m. May 29 at the Sammamish Library.
Magical Tree Tales, for children 3 and older with an adult, will weave magical tales through the treetops of Ireland, India and Japan. Children will create handmade nests from craft materials at 1 p.m. May 30 at the Sammamish Library.
