Sammamish resident Bob Toigo was elected April 7 to the Little League International Board of Directors as its new Western Region representative.
Toigo, 71, has volunteered with Little League for 44 years, and has served as a Washington District 9 administrator for the last seven years. He succeeds Marty Hoy of California as the Western Region representative.
A retiree who worked with the Port of Seattle and served four years in the U.S. Navy, Toigo also serves as a Washington Little League director. His term on the international Little League board begins in November.
“I am extremely honored to represent all of our players and volunteers of the Western Region on the Little League International Board of Directors,” Toigo said in a news release. “We have a proud Little League tradition in Washington, which is the home of the Junior League Softball World Series. I am excited to bring my experiences to help create a better Little League experience for all our players, parents and volunteers.”
