Officials at Eastside Fire & Rescue urges drivers to eliminate those things which limit their ability to maintain focus on the road.

Texting while driving and talking on cellphones increases crash risk.

Recent reports dispute the myth that a hands-free option greatly reduces or even removes risk.

Drivers using handheld or hands-free devices are distracted by the conversation itself, which means they are not able to focus solely on the task of driving.

The NSC and EFR aim to raise awareness about the dangers of using cellular devices while driving.
