A volunteer event to help maintain Evans Creek Preserve will have volunteers remove invasive weeds from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 8 at the preserve. For more information and to register, visit www.sammamish.us/events/Default.aspx?ID=3165.

A Free Electronics Recycling event sponsored by the Eastlake High School Fast Pitch Booster club is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 8 at Eastlake. Bring recyclables, working or not, to the school for drop off. Eastlake’s softball team is accepting donations at the event. Visit www.1greenplanet.org for a list of recyclables.

 

The Mother-Daughter book club, for girls 10-13 and their mothers, will discuss ‘Rules’ by Cynthia Lord from 1-2 p.m. March 9 at the Sammamish Library.

 

Author Jamie Ford will be on hand to discuss his books from 7-8 p.m. March 11 at the Sammamish Library.

 

Simple Measures, featuring the duo of Rajan Krishnaswami on cello and Mark Salman on piano, will perform sonatas for cello and piano by Poulenc and Strauss at 7:30 p.m. March 18 at Sammamish Presbyterian Church. The event is free and sponsored by the Sammamish Arts Commission and 4Culture.

 

The Sammamish Book Club will discuss ‘I, Robot’ by Isaac Asimov from 7-9 p.m. March 19 at the Sammamish Library.

 

The Harry Potter Reading Club, for ages 10-14 will discuss ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Askaban’ from 4:30-5:30 p.m. March 20 at the Sammamish Library.

 

Eastside Catholic students will perform the musical ‘Guys and Dolls’ at 7 p.m. March 20, 21 and 22 and 6 p.m. March 23 at the Skyline High School Auditorium. Tickets are $10, or $8 for students with an ASB card from any school.

 

Sequential Reaction: A History of the American Comic Book will delve into the history of comics from 7-8 p.m. March 26 at the Sammamish Library.
