Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church is asking for the return of two defibrillators that went missing from the church over the weekend.

Parish Administrator Rich Shively said staff noticed that the two automatic external defibrillators were missing Saturday, Feb. 2. They are valued at approximately $1,100 a piece.

Sammamish Police Administrative Sergeant Jessica Sullivan said there are no signs of any break-in to the building, but police have been unable to identify a suspect because there were many people in the building in the days before the defibrillators disappeared. She said it’s unclear why someone would take them.

“I’m not aware of any other uses for AEDs,” Sullivan said.

Shivley said the church would accept the devices returned, “no questions asked.” He noted that the devices have serial numbers that police could trace if they were resold.

“Returning them seems like a better alternative,” he said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Sammamish Police at 425-295-0770 during business hours.
