Max Browne of Skyline High School has been named USA Today’s Football Offensive Player of the Year and first-team All-America quarterback.
It’s the second major award recently for Browne. He also received the Gatorade National Player of the Year trophy from Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson in a ceremony at the school.
The 6-foot-5 senior, a starter since his sophomore season at Skyline, broke the state record for career passing yards (12,951) this year.
He threw for 4,526 yards and 49 touchdowns in his senior season while leading the Spartans to a 14-0 record and their second consecutive Class 4A state championship.
Browne committed to USC last April.
He finished classes at Skyline and will enroll this month at USC.
