Sammamish is looking for some of its best and brightest to help guide city policy next year.
The city will have vacancies on four of its advisory commissions in 2013, including:
- 3 positions on the Arts Commission, which meets once a month to help organize exhibitions, concerts and other arts events in the city.
- 1 position on the Beaver Lake Management District, which meets quarterly to oversee water quality and public education programs around the lake.
- 3 positions on the Parks and Recreation Commission, which meets monthly to plan for future parks and guide programing in current ones.
- 2 positions on the Planning Commission, which meets twice a month and advises the City Council on land use regulations.
Two positions – one on the Planning Commission and one on the Arts Commission – will be one-year terms to take over for the resignations of commissioners Jeff Wasserman and Bala Subrmanian. The rest of the terms will be for four years.
In other cases, incumbent commissioners may re-apply for their positions.
Applicants will undergo a short, informal interview with the City Council. For more information visit the city’s website at www.ci.sammamish.wa.us and click on “Advisory Boards” on the sidebar at the left. Applications will be accepted until Dec. 28.
