A vehicle prowler victimized a handful of residents west of East Sammamish Park in the early morning hours of April 22.
At least nine residents had their cars broken into that night. A laptop, wallet and car chargers were among the items stolen.
In nearly all of the incidents, the suspect accessed the vehicles by simply opening up unlocked doors. Sammamish Police Administrative Sergeant Jessica Sullivan said simple measures like locking doors at night can go a long way towards preventing property crime.
“It goes back to what we say about crime requiring intent and opportunity,” she said. “By locking your doors, you’re eliminating one of those opportunities that are available for criminals.”
Police have been unable to obtain fingerprints from the vehicles and have no suspects.
