Egged and injured
A resident on the 2100 block of 204th Place Northeast had eggs thrown at their home the evening of Dec. 23. This was the second night in a row the home had been targeted, though the residents are unsure who was responsible.
The homeowner and his wife also reported that they had injured themselves when they slipped on ice that had formed on the ground from the eggs they had cleaned off the night before. They did not wish to press charges but told police they would be installing a camera system.
Burglary
A resident on the 24000 block of Northeast 31st Way had a laptop stolen from their home at around 7:45 a.m. Dec. 23. A neighbor heard the resident’s burglary alarm go off and saw a man in his 30s wearing a dark-colored baseball cap flee from behind the residence and get into a red Dodge Durango before driving away. The case remains under investigation.
Suspended license
A 37-year-old Seattle man was cited for driving with a suspended license after being pulled over near the corner of Northeast 12th Street and 228th Avenue Northeast Dec. 20. The man’s license had been suspended in July for unpaid tickets. The man was released at the scene.
Burglary
A resident on the 1100 block of 240th Avenue Northeast had a flat-screen television, DVD player and laptop stolen from his home between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Dec. 20.
The suspect apparently entered through an unlocked back door. Police photographed several fresh boot marks in the back yard. The case remains under investigation.
Burglary
A resident on the 3900 block of 206th Place Northeast had several books, a pair of sunglasses and various other items stolen from her car as it was parked in her open garage during the middle of the day Dec. 20. The resident arrived home at around 11:15 a.m. and left her garage door open because she was leaving again soon.
When she went to leave at around noon she noticed multiple items missing from her vehicle. She noted that a propane camping stove had been taken from her garage five months earlier but that she hadn’t reported it at the time. The case remains under investigation.
Harassment
A 24-year-old Carnation man will be charged with violation of a court order for allegedly calling and emailing a Sammamish woman in violation of a restraining order between the two.
The woman called police Dec. 20 after she received several phone calls and text messages from her ex-boyfriend accusing her of having sexual relations with another person.
The woman had received a court order in November forbidding the man from contacting her.
Police called the man and verified that he was the one sending the messages and forwarded the case to prosecutors.
Suspended license
A 23-year-old Everett woman was cited for driving with a suspended license after being pulled over near the corner of Northeast Eighth Street and 242nd Avenue Northeast Dec. 19.
The woman’s license had been suspended for an unpaid ticket. She was released to a friend.
Burglary
A resident on the 3300 block of Sahalee Drive West had thousands of dollars worth of jewelry stolen from their home sometime during the day Dec. 19. The suspect apparently forced open a back door to the garage to gain entry to the home.
The suspects apparently passed on several obviously valuable items, including guns, iPods and computers, and went to the master bedroom to take jewelry and cash. The case remains under investigation.
Too young to drink
Three 19-year-old men will likely face alcohol-related charges after being pulled over on the 23200 block of Northeast 10th Place Dec. 15. An officer began following the teens’ vehicle after seeing it stop for no apparent reason in the middle of the roundabout at the corner of Northeast Eighth Street and 244th Avenue Northeast. The officer pulled the vehicle over shortly later. The occupants smelled of alcohol, though none were over the age of 21. Two occupants showed signs of intoxication based on breath tests and will be charged with minor in possession. The driver blew a .025 and will likely face a physical control of a vehicle while intoxicated charge.
Mail theft
Twelve residents in the Asbery Place neighborhood may have had mail stolen the morning of Dec. 23. A neighbor reported leaving the neighborhood at around 5:30 a.m.
When they returned at around 8 a.m. they discovered that a group mailbox near the corner of 214th Avenue Southeast and Southeast First Place had been damaged.
Twelve of the locked mailboxes had been pried open, apparently with a hammer or other sort of tool. It’s unclear how much mail was taken, though only junk mail remained.
Two residents on the 21300 block of Southeast 13th Place reported their mailboxes had been pried open that morning as well. The case remains under investigation.
520 toll money
A resident on the 21500 block of Southeast 22nd Street had about $25 in loose change stolen from her unlocked car overnight Dec. 21. The vehicle was unlocked at the time.
Reckless driving
A 24-year-old Snoqualmie man was arrested on suspicion of reckless driving after an officer witnessed him passing two vehicles across a double yellow line at a high rate of speed on the 800 block of East Lake Sammamish Parkway at around 7:45 a.m. Dec. 20.
The officer followed the man and found his truck had skidded off the road and hit a tree. The driver told the officer he was late for work. Police arrested him and recovered a jar with marijuana, for which the man had a doctor’s note.
The man was booked into Issaquah Jail. A female passenger was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.
Vehicle prowl
A resident on the 1800 block of 244th Avenue Southeast had a GPS unit stolen from their vehicle between 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Dec. 22.
The suspect forced open the door with some sort of tool. Police have no suspects.
War on Christmas
A resident on the 1900 block of 263rd Place Southeast reported that someone had taken it upon themselves to take down the resident’s Christmas decorations overnight Dec. 19.
Christmas lights were torn off several trees and a Christmas wreath was taken down from the resident’s front door. Police have no suspects.
Vandalism
A resident on the 2800 block of 238th Avenue had a sign advertising her art studio vandalized the evening of Dec. 20. Vulgar words were written on the sign in sharpie.
The case remains under investigation.
Burglary attempt
A resident on the 1800 block of West Beaver Lake Drive had a window of their home broken in an apparent burglary attempt Dec. 18.
Someone removed a window screen and then broke the window between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. that day, though no items were missing from the home. The case remains under investigation.
Shoplifting
Staff at Safeway reported that a man between the ages of 17 and 21 left the store without paying for a basket worth of groceries at around 4 p.m. Dec. 18.
DUI
A 20-year-old Sammamish man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after an officer saw him driving about 75 mph in a 30 zone near the corner of Northeast Eighth Street and 244th Avenue Northeast at around 3:30 a.m. Dec. 18.
The man admitted to drinking that night and blew a .13 on a breath test. He was released to a friend.
