Eastlake prepares for Relay for Life

The members of team “Fight Like A Girl” have raised nearly $7,000 as they prepare for the 2011 Relay For Life event at Eastlake High School. And its team captain, Kaylee Hansen, has raised more than any individual participant — $4,675, according to the American Cancer Society.

The Relay For Life happens May 14-15 at the school’s track and football field. More than 560 people on 62 teams will walk the track — at least one team member walking from noon May 14 to 8 a.m. May 15 to raise money and awareness for cancer research. They will also remember those who have died from the disease, as well as the many survivors who live in or near Sammamish. Read more
