The Sammamish City Council’s decision to allow developers to count 600-square-foot housing units as a half-unit for development purposes raises more questions than answers.
The allowance of half-units marks a potential major change to the Town Center plan. Where before the plan had called for a 2,000-unit maximum for housing units in Town Center, that target now looks more like a floor than a ceiling. As the plan was debated and created through the years, those concerned arrived at the 2,000 number, plus some extra for affordable housing. Read more

Barbara Imig Foster, age 75, died peacefully at home in Sammamish Friday, Sept. 17, 2010 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
She is survived by her daughter Anne (Foster) Foley and her husband Brendan Foley and grandsons Danny and Connor of Sammamish; her son Andrew C. Foster and his wife Catherine (Hottenrott) Foster and grandchildren Brady, Luke, and Lexi of Concord, Calif. Read more
