For the last two years, Eastside Fire & Rescue officials have pushed to add King County Fire District 27 – a rural, volunteer-heavy district covering Fall City – as a partner in the agency. Sammamish representatives, already concerned with the growing costs of its EFR bills, wonder what they’ll get in exchange for the tens of thousands more they might potentially pay if Fall City is added.

Ashley Fitzgibbons wins girls 8-11 state golf title

By the way things went in the first round, Ashley Fitzgibbons, 11, of Sammamish, was not on track to win her age group a the WJGA state golf championship July 28-30. Creekside Elementary, Sammamish’s newest school, opens

To the tune of hammering and buzzing saws on a hot day at the end of July, Principal Robin Earl walked through the crowded hallways of her new school.
Without a student in sight, the hallways at Creekside Elementary School were still full.
“It’s like Christmas,” Earl said, smiling at the boxes of paper, computers, desks and chairs.
