Eastlake’s head girls basketball coach Scott Sartorius recently announced he is stepping down from the position.
Sartorius spent four years rebuilding the Wolves’ program and leaves so he can spend more time with his family, he said in a letter to the Eastlake community.
“There is no easy way to say this as it has been the most difficult decision I’ve ever had to make,” Sartorius said in the letter.
“Please understand that it has nothing to do with my love for this program, this community, and the players/families in this program. My family needs to take priority in my life.”
Sartorius coached the Lady Wolves to a 59-37 record in his time as head coach and led the team to the state tournament in the 2008-2009 season.
Sara Goldie, former coach at Redmond High School, will take over the program, Kawaguchi said.
Eastlake also recently announced its new volleyball coach, Janna Tonahill, who will take over for Gaylene Page.
Page coached the Eastlake volleyball program for four years.
