5 vie for conservation district seatKing Conservation District voters will choose between five candidates for a contested board of supervisors seat in a March 16 election.The candidates include Seattle residents Kirk Prindle and Mary Embleton, Auburn resident Mara Heiman, Redmond resident Teri Herrera and Renton resident Max Prinsen.The district promotes sustainable use of natural resources, and provides information and voluntary technical-assistance programs to landowners.A five-person board of supervisors oversees the district. The board includes three members elected by district residents and two members appointed by state Conservation Commission.The district contracted with elections administrator Election Trust to provide polling locations instead of mail-in ballots. The nearest polling locations to Sammamish will be the county libraries in Bellevue at 1111 110th Ave. N.E., and Carnation at 4804 Tolt Ave. Polls will open from 10:30 a.m. – 8 p.m.
