A vote to increase the tax levy for libraries is tightly contested after the first round of ballots were released by King County Elections.
After the first round of ballots were released Feb. 9, the vote is 50.5 percent – 49.5 percent in favor on raising the tax.
In the Issaquah School district all three of the school levy measures are well on their way to passing.
The Issaquah district’s Maintenance and Operations Levy is ahead by roughly a 64-36 split. The Capital Projects levy is ahead 63-37 and the bus levy is ahead 64-36.
In the Lake Washington School District both levies seem likely to pass. The Educational Programs and Operations Levy is ahead 59-41. The Capital Projects levy is also ahead, 56.5-43.5.
The district bond measure has so far gotten 53.47 percent of votes. However, as a bond measure, it must receive 60 percent approval. The district also needed to see a minimum of 20,110 voters cast ballots, but that hurdle seems to have been overcome.
See complete election results here. King County Elections is scheduled to release additional ballot results at 4:30 p.m. daily.
