Beaver Lake takes the test

On Tuesday, Feb. 2, all students at Beaver Lake Middle School rushed through the halls to the classrooms where they would be given the Stanford Test. Because of the large amount of time the test would take out of the normal school day, all periods were shortened to 30 minutes.

I came to my class a bit nervous, but feeling prepared. There were no notes for the test — it was simply a test where your notes were everything that you learned in school so far.

Personally, I thought the first part of the test that I took, the reading vocabulary, was moderately easy.

It took about 20 minutes and after that we had a short break where I could relax and mentally prepare myself for the 90-minute testing window that was just a few minutes ahead.

After the short, four-five minute break, it was back to work, this time on the math portion of the test.

This part was a lot longer and a little harder. I felt a lot better when I finally finished, and after checking my answers, I read a book for the remaining time.

Overall, the first day of Stanford Testing for me was pretty easy, and I can’t wait to see what happens on the second and final day of testing, on Thursday, which by the time this article is published, will have already happened!
