The Issaquah school District has narrowed the list of names for Sammamish’s new elementary school to five, Creekside, Ebright Creek, Lake Vista, Opportunity and Samena.
School Board members are to be heading into the community to gather input before making the selection at an upcoming meeting.
The list of finalists, presented to the board Nov. 10, was whittled down from 130 submissions.
The school, set to open in 2010, is located near the intersection of Southeast 20th Street and 212th Avenue Southeast. It is currently called E-15.
The Issaquah School district has budgeted $22.8 million for construction of the building. It is slated to have 28 classrooms, a computer lab, music room, multi-purpose gym, library and resource room.
