Eastlake senior forward Allie Beahan scored the game-winner in double-overtime Nov. 3 at Issaquah Stadium to beat the Woodinville Falcons. The 3-2 win earned Eastlake the third-place spot for KingCo 4A playoffs.
The goal came after Beahan took the ball on a clear from Kelly Morro. Beahan turned, dribbled past some Woodinville defenders and lofted the ball just over the Woodinville goalie’s head.
“I pushed it off to the right and just smacked the crap out of it,” Beahan said. “It was amazing.”
The Lady Wolves led first after Woodinville scored an own goal in the first half. The Falcons tied things up when senior midfielder Shea Samuelsen knocked one in in the sixth minute. Woodinville’s Rachel Vanderwel scored an unassisted goal in the 30th minute to make it 2-1 Falcons.
Eastlake junior forward Abby Frenkel tied things up with a goal in the 45th minute. Sophomore midfielder Emily Cushing had the assist. Eastlake improved to 13-4-1 overall.
The Lady Wolves will continue on to the first round of the state soccer tournament after beating Skyview 2-0 Nov. 7. Morro scored the game’s first goal in the 24th minute (Beahan assist) and Beahan capped it off with a score in the 63rd minute. Elston had the assist. Goalkeeper Bryce Kennedy had the shutout.
