At the Oct. 20 meeting, the Sammamish City Council approved four on-call contracts that could amount to $175,000 in expenditures. All four contracts are for on-call services and run through the end of 2012.
One contract was with Jack’s Mobile Repair, which would give the city the ability to send someone out to repair vehicles.
City documents from the Public Works Department explained that an on-call repair service was necessary in a snowstorm, especially after business hours.
“We currently have no mobile mechanic that can work on this kind of equipment after hours, which is when we need it the most during the winter season,” the bill said.
The council authorized the use of up to $50,000 for Jack’s Mobile Repair until the endof the contract.
The council also authorized a contract for up to $45,000 with Acorn Tree Service to remove and prune trees.
The contract would make Acorn the on-call service provider whenever tree removal or maintenance becomes a need.
The contract said that the standard rate for Acorn would be $190 per hour, plus tax, for the use of three men, one truck, a chipper and stump grinder. Rates for individual projects might vary, though.
The council also approved a contract for up to $45,000 with All-Around Fence Company for on-call fence repair, maintenance and construction services.
The council also authorized a contract for up to $35,000 with Northwest Hydroseeding for on-call services.
Earlier in the month, the council approved paying Northwest Asphalt an additional $7,460 for a bit of extra work added to an existing project.
The original contract was for $101,482, for pavement patching in the Tree Farms neighborhood. But the project has expanded to include repairing some pavement in the southbound lane of 228th Avenue where it intersects with Issaquah-Pine Lake Road.
