Recently, I found out from the vice-principal at Beaver Lake Middle School, Ms. Perey, that during the week of Nov. 16-20, there will be a food and gift card drive at our school.
Most of the food that is donated will go directly to the Issaquah Food Bank, and the rest will go to help local families who are facing hard times.
Students can donate meals such as cereal, juice, and meals in a can.
For the students at Beaver Lake, it’s a contest.
The first part of the contest is the food drive.
The lunch period [first, second, or third lunch] to collect the most food will be served pizza donated from Costco on Nov. 23.
The second part of the contest is the gift card drive.
The first period classroom in each grade to collect the most business gift cards for the drive will be served donuts and juice. Donuts, pizza, and juice, yum!
I think this is a wonderful idea.
Sammamish and Beaver Lake students, let’s work hard to help our community! Go Bulldogs!
