The Sammamish Farmers Market, featuring local food, crafts and entertainment is open from 4-8 p.m. Wednesdays at City Hall.
Sammamish’s 10th Birthday will be celebrated from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 29 at Sammamish City Commons. There will be a family fun section and a special 21 and older venue featuring local jazz musician, Darren Motamedy.
Sammamish Nights, hosted by the Sammamish Chamber of Commerce 6-10 p.m. Aug. 29 at Sammamish City Commons. The event will be for people 21 and older and will feature premier wines, food and smooth jazz. Tickets are available at www.sammamishchamber.org. Portions of the proceeds will benefit the Chris Elliott Fund.
Seek Justice Challenge Fundraising event community celebration and lunch 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 12 at Sammamish Presbyterian Church, 22522 N.E. Inglewood Hill Road. The event is a running, walking and biking fundraiser to raise awareness for International Justice Mission, a human rights agency. To register or for more information visit www.spconline.org/sjc.
Animal Crackers, a new artEAST collective works show runs from Aug. 7-29 and features the Sammi 7. The art will display interpretations of the theme through many different mediums.

Group Health is seeking volunteers in King and Snohomish counties to assist with hospice care. There will be training sessions Sept. 21, 22, and 23 in Bellevue. MDA is holding the 5th annual Edgar Martinez Golf Classic for Muscular Dystrophy on Aug. 15 at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge. Registration is from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. and is followed by a shotgun start at noon. There will be a live and silent auction at a VIP dinner and gala. All proceeds go toward muscular dystrophy research.
Master Chorus Eastside is holding auditions in all its sections for the 2009-2010 season. All interested singers must have choral music experience and basic music reading ability. Read Three, Get One Free Summer Edition, teens are eligible for a monthly prize drawing and entered in the Grand Prize drawing for a free laptop, second prize is a MUVO MP3 player, when they turn in forms available at any KCLS library.
