The Eastlake dance team poses after the awards ceremony with its two state trophies. Brooke Davis, Rachael Woods, Marlies Hornberger, Kelsea Asher, Melissa Lobb, Ally Archer, Megan Winkel, Sarah Lebel, Kristina Meyer, Amanda Kautzky, Athena Burkholder, Katie Teman, Julia Nasca, Kim Downing, Stephanie Kayser, Mary Wenneborg, Kaylene Nadalin, Natalie Harding and coaches Corinne Immel and Jessica Shane.

The Eastlake Dance Team competed in the WIAA Dance/Drill State Championship March 28. They got third place in the pom category, with the top “superior” rating, said coach Corinne Immel. Eastlake’s pom routine was a Britney Spears-inspired, fast paced routine. The girls earned second place in the dance category. Their dance routine was a lyrical, emotional routine to a song about lost love, Immel said. This is the first time that the Eastlake Dance Team has received two trophies at a state competition, Immel said. Tryouts for the 2009-2010 team will be in late May. Photo courtesy Dave Nadalin
