About a dozen Sammamish Boy Scouts and parent volunteers fed all varieties of discarded Christmas trees into the chipper Jan. 3 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Beaver Lake ball fields for its annual Tree Pickup event.

The troop, along with five other troops from around Sammamish, has offered the post-holiday tree pick-up service for 24 years, according to Scout leader Mark Matthews.

Alpine Tree Service Experts provided the chipper.
