Beanie Baby round up. Donate your old beanie babies, which the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan use as mascots and to distribute to local children. Northwest Sound, a singing group that includes some Sammamish residents, will present “A Northwest Christmas, featuring special guest, BlueStreet Jazz Voices. Bethlehem Inn Dinner Theater. Sammamish Presbyterian Church’s choir and youth present the story of the birth of Christ. 7 p.m. Dec. 5 and 6 at the church. Tickets are on sale Nov. 23 and 30 for $20 for adults and $10 for people under 18.
Faith United Methodist Church offers “Faith Cafe” for women of all ages. The café features drop-in coffee time, scrapbooking/stamping, mom & baby playgroup, quilting/knitting and walking group. The Men’s Fraternity is holding a “Quest for Authentic Manhood” series. It is designed to help men discover their masculine identity. Volunteers needed
The King County Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program needs certified long term care ombudsman volunteers. After completing a four-day training program, visit with residents, take and resolve complaints and advocate for residents. Eastside Bluebills is a Boeing retiree volunteer organization that strives to provide opportunities for retirees to help others in need and to assist charitable and nonprofit organizations. LINKS, Looking Into the Needs of Kids in Schools, places community volunteers in the schools of the Lake Washington School District.
