Book of the month
November 18, 2008
By Staff
This month, the mother daughter book club is reading “The City of Ember” by Jeanne DuPrau. The book, recently made into a movie, tells the story of a civilization of people who live underground, and the attempt some of them make to escape.Besides the discussion, this month features a book and cookie exchange. Wrap a copy of your favorite book and bring a batch of cookies to share. The group is set to meet 7 p.m. Dec. 10 at the library.

I love the idea of wrapping a book and bringing cookies! What a great holiday activity for a book club; I’ll suggest it to my own group.
