The ARAS Harvest Festival will provide clothes, groceries, books and toys to more than 2,000 people in White Center. ARAS is seeking volunteers to help with managing the donations, and is also seeking donations. Drop-off bins for non-perishable groceries are at the library, City Hall, Plateau Chiropractic, Dr. Mark Nelson Orthodontist and the Sammamish Chamber of Commerce office.
Youth Eastside Services will hold a panel discussion entitled Safe Surfing: Old Threats, New Technologies – Combating Cyber Risks for Our Kids and features experts in technology, law-enforcement and parenting to discuss what parents need to know to keep their kids safe. Bethlehem Inn Dinner Theater. Sammamish Presbyterian Church’s choir and youth present the story of the birth of Christ. 7 p.m. Dec. 5 and 6 at the church. Tickets are on sale Nov. 16, 23 and 30 for $20 for adults and $10 for people under 18.
Faith United Methodist Church offers “Faith Cafe” for women of all ages. The café features drop-in coffee time, scrapbooking/stamping, mom & baby playgroup, quilting/knitting and walking group. The Men’s Fraternity is holding a “Quest for Authentic Manhood” series. It is designed to help men discover their masculine identity. Volunteers needed
The King County Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program needs certified long term care ombudsman volunteers. After completing a four-day training program, visit with residents, take and resolve complaints and advocate for residents. Eastside Bluebills is a Boeing retiree volunteer organization that strives to provide opportunities for retirees to help others in need and to assist charitable and nonprofit organizations.
