Sammamish students graduate from OSU

Graduating with Oregon State University’s class of 2008 on June 15 were Jordan Long, cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in speech communication; and Stuart D. Morris with a Bachelor of Science in business administration.

Evans on dean’s list

Caitlin Evans, of Sammamish, was named to the dean’s list at Ball State (Ind.) University.
The dean’s list recognizes undergraduates who earn at least a 3.5 grade-point average for 12 or more credits of graded course work during a semester.

Two graduate from University of Portland

Michael Kilburg graduated from the University of Portland with a bachelor’s degree in physics.
Margaret Bruya graduated from the University of Portland with a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication.

The pair were among 607 who received bachelor’s degrees and 162 who received master’s degrees during the May 4 commencement at the university.

Fisser on scholar’s list

Matthew Fisser of Sammamish was recently named to the spring 2008 Texas Christian University Scholars list for obtaining a 4.0 GPA at the university in Fort Worth, Texas.
Osborne graduates

Lillian April Osborne, of Sammamish, graduated cum laude from Gonzaga University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science May 11.

Scudder graduates

Travis Scudder, a 2003 graduate of Eastlake High School, graduated June 7, from Central Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications with a minor in retail management and technology.

Sambrano completes law school

Jason Sambrano, a 2000 graduate of Eastlake High School and the University of Washington 2004, has been awarded a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Oregon’s William S. Knight School of Law. Jason is a member of Phi Alpha Delta, a community service law fraternity and is Executive Editor of the 2008 University of Oregon International Law Review.
Sawchuck graduates

Kristen M. Sawchuk has earned the degree of Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a minor in history from Linfield College. Commencement exercises were June 1. Sawchuk is employed as an accountant with Moss Adams LLP.

Lindsay Donahue, a resident of Sammamish, WA, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Scripps College in Claremont, California. Donahue is a Junior, majoring in Japanese.

Scripps College is the women’s college of the Claremont Colleges, an academic community of five undergraduate and two graduate institutions. The Claremont Consortium provides the academic resources commensurate with a thriving university.

Scripps is consistently ranked among the top liberal arts colleges in the nation. The College emphasizes a challenging core curriculum based on interdisciplinary studies in the humanities, combined with rigorous training in the disciplines.

The dean’s list recognizes students who have achieved a grade point average of at least 11 (A-) in four, letter-graded courses in one semester. Out of a total of 706 enrolled students at Scripps, 222 students qualified for the list.
